
Background: Coagulation testing abnormalities is a common laboratory symptom seeing in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. Purpose: To assess the situation with bleeding symptom after chemotherapy in AML patients. Patients and methods: analysis study of 56 patients with AML treated in National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion from 8/2009 to 5/2010. Results: In group with bleeding symptoms there 'are 83.3 percent with prolonged bleeding time and abnormal blood clot contraction (87 percent); which are significantly higher than in group without bleeding symptom (20 percent; 53.3 percent and 66.7 percent; respectively). Platelet count in bleeding group is lower than that of non-bleeding group (48.57 + or - 6.32 x 109/1 and 71.38 + or - 10.91 x 109/1; respectively) with p 0.05 - 0.001.
