
Currently time, conservative management of renal trauma has more and more currency. This study evaluates the role of conservative non surgical management in treatment of blunt renal trauma. Report of 167 renal trauma cases treated at Viet Duc hospital from 1/2006 to 12/2008. The authors analysed the role of non surgical management relating to the ability of renal trauma conservation basing on the evaluation of clinical variables and renal damage on imaging diagnosis. The rate of non surgical management was 74.3 percent with conservative renal trauma was successful in 91.1 percent. Seven early extravasation were successfully treated by selective embolization. The late emergency surgery after 24h was 8.9 percent. The mean hospital stay was 6.43 + or - 4.00 days (1-30 days). 81.4 percent total patients didn't get late complications and meddle again in longterm follow up range from 34 to 70 month (mean 47.40 + or - 10.85) with good conservative renal function. The study haven't found out the hypertension, hydronephrosis or kidney hypofut:lction after trauma yet.
