
Objective: To assess the impact of a nutrition education and communication model on nutrition knowledge and practice changes of mothers with children below 24 months of age in Soc Son district, Ha Noi. Method: Community controlled intervention trial. Results: After 12 months, percentage of mothers' average, good and excellent scores on dietary diversification significantly increased in the intervene group compared with control one (p0.001) at T12 and with itself at T0; Those of mothers' knowledge and practices on child malnutrition control measures increased in both intervene and control groups, but the intervention impact scores of the intervene group found significant higher (p0.01). Conclusion: Nutrition education and communication model has proved to be significantly and positively impacted to improve mothers' knowledge and practices on dietary diversification and child malnutrition control measures.
