Objective. To evaluate the incidence of oculomotor nerve palsy (ONP) from posterior communicating aneurysms (PCoA), recovering outcome of ONP after clipping PCoA and factors influencing outcome. Method: Perspective study perfomed in 21 patients with ONP associated with PCoA, at Viet-Duc Hospital, between 1/2006 and 12/2010. Results: female/male: 1,6/1. Subarachnoid hemorrbage 38.1percent, Aneurysm size 8-10 mm: 52.4 percent. Time between onset of ONP and treatment in 52.5 percent was 2-4 weeks. 85.7 percent patients have resolution of ONP in 1-2 months postoperation. The rate of complete ONP resolution was 71.4 percent. Conclusion: 27 percent ONP caused by PCoA. 71.4 percent patients have complete ONP resolution, mainly at 1-2 months after clipping. Modality of clipping, time to treatment and SAH were factors influencing outcome.
