
60 liver cirrhosis patients with the complication of gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastric varies, were treated by endoscopic varieceal ligation at Department of Hepatogastroenterology, Bach Mai Hospital and General Hospital of Bac Ninh from December 2005 to December 2007. The result shows that: 1/ About clinical and endoscopy: Almost all (86.7 percent) liver cirrhosis patient are men, with the average age of 44 (1774). Number of alcoholic-caused patients make up of 70 percent. Ratio of serious cases is child C: 65 percent. Almost all patients have gastric varicosities combining with oesophagus varicosities, and the ratio of bleeding at varicosities is 65 percent. 2/ Result of treatment: Effect of hemostasis makes up of 81.6 percent. The ratio of rebleeding after 12 months is 26.7 percent and the ratio of fatality is 14.3 percent.
