Junctional region of Ig/TCR gene rearrangements are a marker which is recommended for monitoring minimal residual disease in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In this study, 12 common Ig/TCR gene rearrangements were analyzed in 30 bone marrow samples from B-ALL patients and 10 healthy control samples at Blood Transfusion and Hematology hospital of Ho Chi Minh city. Twenty eight out of 30 patients (93.3 percent) strongly expressed one or more Ig/TCR rearrangements. The strong expressions of Ig/TCRs included Vd2-Dd3 (56.7 percent), VkI-Kde (36.7 percent), VkII-Kde (23.3 percent), Intron-Kde (13.3 percent), VgII-Jg1.3/2.3 (13.3 percent), and VgI-Jg1.3/2.3 (10 percent). The results of this study help to select frequent strong expressions of Ig/TCR rearrangements in Vietnamese patients and are the backgrounds to develop real-time PCR technique for monitoring minimal residual disease in B-ALL.
