
Objective: to study clinical characteristics and evaluate the treatment results of laryngotracheal stenosis due to tujerculosis. Method: a prospective interventional study was conducted on 14 patients being treated at National ENT hospital from 8/2000-8/2010. Results: 10 patients were hospitalized due to failed decannulation after tracheostomy. Most of patients (12 out of 14) had laryngeal stenosis. The most common lesions were laryngeal web and fibrosis (13 out of 14 patients). Injury levels were at Cotton III and IV. 6 patients underwent microdirect laryngoscopy. 7 patients underwent open larynx sugery and all of them could take decannulation at the 1st or 2nd phase of the surgery. Pronounced function and mild hoarse (11/14 patients). Conclusion: open larynx and dilatation for treatment laryngotracheal stenosis due to tuberculosis is a high effectiveness treatment with good pronounced and ventilation function results.
