
Methods: Descriptive research of 55 esophagus cancer cases who were diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound and confirmed by histopathology. Results: Mean age: 53.69 +/- 8.42; male was dominant (96.36 percent), location of the tumor: upper parl- middle parl - lower parl were 10.9 percent - 38.2 percent - 50.9 percent respectively, length of the tumors: 55 +/- 33.073 mm. Tumor extension: T1- T2 - T3 - T4: 14.5 percent - 18.2 percent 58.2 percent - 9.1 percent respectively with accurate rate of 78. 18 percent, sensitive rate of 55.6 - 93 percent, specificity rate of 84-96.1 percent. Nodes metastasis rate: 53.85 percent with the accurate rate of 82.69 percent. Conclusions: Endoscopic ultrasound have an imporlant role in diagnosis of tumor extension and local nodes metastasis in esophagus cancer.
