This paper presents the results of synthesis and application of mutiporous materials to adsorb some toxic chemicals in Huu Nghi tobacco smoke. 12 multiporous materials samples with different particle sizes were synthesized based on zeolite X, P, gama-Al2O3, and various amount of CMC binder. These samples were used in Huu Nghi tobacco filter to adsorb toxic chemicals in smoke. The results show that decreasing particle size of adsorbent will decrease CO, tar and nicotin content in smoke but increase the inhale resistance. Whereas, decrease the amount of adsorbent will increase CO, tar, nicotin content but decrease the inhale resistance. The optimal sample used in the filter for 100,000 Huu Nghi cigarettes decreases 32.0: 14.4 and 21.5 percent of CO, nicotin and tar, respectively compared to control sample. By sensory evaluation. it is proved that adsorbent in filter do not change the quality of cigarettes compared to control sample.
