Research objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate:- The change of plasma t-PA and PAI-1 in the acute phase of ischemic stroke; - The correlation between t-PA and PAI-1 and clinical outcome. Research design: - 30 patients with the acute ischemic stroke and 28 control persons at Hue central hospital; - The plasma t-PA and PAI-1 are measured with the ELISA method; - The clinical outcome is evaluated with the the score of NIH-NINDS.Result: - Plasma t-PA in the patient group is significatly higher than control group: 8.46 + or - 7.28 ng/ml comparing with 6.66 + or - 3,29 ng/ml (P0.05); - Plasma PAI-1 in the patient group is significatly higher than control group : 92.93 + or - 16.5 ng/ml comparing with 44.18 + or - 17.56 ng/ml (P 0.001); - There was a strong correlation between clinical outcome and plasma t-PA with r
