Abstract

Objectives: Study treatment outcome of ectopic pregnancy with methotrexate at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009. Subjects and Methods: retrospective descriptive study, analyzed 425 records of patients with unruptured ectopic pregnancy is treated by MTX in 2009 at the data store of NHOG. Results: The successfully rate of treatment of unruptured ectopic was 87,1 percent and failure rate was 12,9 percent. In a successfully treated group, single dose,2 doses and 3 doses of MTX accounted for 70.5 percent, 21.6 percent and 7.8 percent. In single dose group, successful treated group accounted for 90 percent. In double dose groups and triple dose group, this incidence was 82,5 percent and 76,3 percent. The difference between the rate of successful treatment and the rate of failure treatment was statistically significant with P 0.05. There are 4 cases of mild headache and 5 cases of nausea (without vomiting). These symptoms reduced and went away after 2 to 3 days without using drugs. In the successful group, the shortest time of treatment was 11 days and the longest time of treatment was 75 days with 3 doses of MTX. Conclusions: the rate of successful and failure treatment were 87.1 percent and 12.9 percent. The rate of successful treatment in the single dose group was 90 percent, in double dose group was 82.5 percent; in three dose group was 76.3 percent. The difference of the rate in successful and failure treatment in each group was statistically significant with P 0.05 . There are 4 cases of mild headache and 5 cases of nause (without vomiting), with using drugs.
