Abstract
By repeated chromatography on silica gel columns, two quaternary alkaloids of protoberberine-type were isolated from the tubers of Stephania sinica. Their structures were determined as palmatine (1), (R)-corydine (2) by NMR and MS. These compounds were found for the first time in Stephania sinica Diels. collected in Quang Binh province (Cental Vietnam).
