
Objectives: (1) to identify the prevalence of diabete and impaired glucaemia in the age group 3,069 of population in 3 districts of Hai Phong; (2) to discribe the relation between diabette disease and the risk factors. Method: cross-sectional descriptive study, 2,000 subjects enrolled from 3 districts in the age group 30-69 years old, no history diabete, living in 3 districts, Haiphong. Values of fasting plasma glucose cut- point for (IFG) and oral glucose tolerance test for impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) was followed WHO 2006 recomendation. Data analysis used EPIINFO6, SPSS, OpenEpi, comparing two prevalence base on chi-square test. Result: Detection rate of diabette disease on 2000 subjects is 4,3 percent, pre-diabetes is 25,8 percent. The rate of diabetes in people with large waist circumference higher than normal waist index (7.2 percent and 3.4 percent) the difference was statistically significant with p 0.05.
