Evaluate the change in knowledge and self-care practices of patients with anal fistula surgery after health education consultation. Methods: Intervention study, comparison before and after intervention, without control group from January 2023 to October 2023 at the Department of Surgery - National Hospital of Traditional Medicine. Results: 128 patients after anal fistula surgery, of which men predominated with 68.7% (88 patients), were assessed before intervention on knowledge and practice of care after anal fistula surgery. Implementation of intervention within 1 month after the patient is discharged from the hospital. Reevaluation after intervention showed that all patients had improvements in self-care and wound hygiene practices after AF surgery, with p < 0.05. Overall selfcare and wound hygiene practice after AF surgery improved by 39.8% from 42.2% to 82.0%. Conclusion: Health education consultation for patients after AF surgery improves patients' knowledge and self-care practice, and enhances treatment effectiveness.
