
Objective: To assess the attitude and practice of medical staffs in psychological care for inpatients in some hospitals in the North of Viet Nam. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 150 medical staffs at some hospitals in the North of Viet Nam during the period from April 2013 to April 2014. Results: the results showed that rate of medical staffs including doctors, nurses, midwives are awared of caring psychology for patients is 62.7 percent. The psychological care practice are explaining (58.0 percent) and encouraging (20.0 percent). There is no difference in psychological care practice between medical staffs' qualification and the number of working years. Conclusions: The rate of medical staffs who are concemed about caring psychological issues for patients is 62. 7 percent. Practicing psychological care for patients is chiefly explaining and encouraging. Psychological care practice does not depend on the number of working years and qualification of medical staffs.
