
Using a cross-sectional survey to study on a situation of acute respiratory infection in children and some risk factors related to acute respiratory infection at 2 communes in Quynh Luu district - Nghe An province, the authors found that: The prevalence rate of acute respiratory infection in children in the study area was still high (38.3 percent); the rate of children suffering from cough and cold was 34.5 percent; the rate of children suffering from bronchitis was 3.8 percent. The prevalence rate of acute respiratory infection in children was still high froni, 12 -35 months old (43.8 percent). Factors related to the acute respiratory infection in children in the study area are: Mother's knowledge on child care was closely, Children who were not fully vaccinated or were fully vaccinated but an incorrect schedule, children weaned early, animal sheds near the house, a housing condition, a indoor kitchen, indoor smoking.
