Objectives: To review a number of factors affecting the frequency of patient check-in for examination and surgeries in required department at VNIO between 2010 and 2011 and made a number of proposals, solutions. Methods: retrospective study in 2010, follow-up research in 2011, based on the number of patients seeking examination and surgeries at VNIO's Treatment-on-demand Department. Results: Patient check-in frequency varies in different times of the year. Surgery frequency also differs in different times of the year. There is a big difference in the number of patients seekingfor examination and surgeries on the 1st, the 3rd and the 15th day compared with the 2nd, the 4th and the 16th day of every lunar month. The proportion of patients choosing a good day for examination and treatment is 36.5 percent with more women than men (69.0 percent). This difference was statistically significant with p 0.05. Conclusion: Frequency of patient check-in for examination and surgeries at the Treatment-on-demand within 2 years between 2010 and 2011 varies in different months of the year, declining on the 1st, the 3rd and the 15th and rising on the 2nd and the 16th of every lunar month. Patients consider the followingfactors, in descending order, to take medical examination: the level of discomfort caused by the disease in the eye; the preference of choosing a good day and following the doctor s appointment. These considerations by the patient are the factors that affect the frequency of patients' visits for examination and treatment at the hospital.
