
Background: The aim of this study to evaluate the value of ultrasound and MRCP for diagnosis of choledoque stones, especially oddi stones - the location of stones usually was viewed difficultly. Materials and methods: retrospective, prospective and cross-sectional study. Results: 31 patients, including 26 patients with choledoque stones. These were applied ultrasound and MRCP to diagnose before operation. Female/Male was average age: 22-83. Diagnosis potential of ultrasound and MRCP with sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, negative predictive value were in the following orders: 84.6 percent; 80 percent; 83.9 percent; 95.6 percent; 50 percent and 96.2 percent; 80 percent; 93.5 percent; 96.2 percent; 80 percent. Conclusion: Ultrasound and MRCP is a good combination for diagnosis of choledoque stones, especially oddi stones.
