Cây Mua phân bố trên khắp nước ta, từ miền núi đến các tỉnh vùng Trung du, đôi khi gặp cả ở đồng bằng và hải đảo. Một loài cây hoa đồng nội, thường mọc rải rác hay thành quần thể nhỏ trên các đồi cầy bụi, ven rừng, bãi đất hoang hoặc ven đường. Hoa Mua màu hồng tím, khá đẹp, gần giông hoa Sim, có thể trang trí cho mỗi ngôi nhà, nhưng không bán trong các quầy bán hoa, như câu “hoa Mua ai bán mà mua” (bài thơ ‘Hoa mua’ của Thanh Trắc Nguyễn Văn, 1995). Về ý nghĩa ứng dụng trong đời sông thì ít ai biết rằng cây Mua cũng là cây thuốc, được dùng chữa nhiều bệnh rất hiệu quả và an toàn.
Mua tree is distributed throughout our country, from mountainous areas to midland provinces, sometimes even in plains and islands. A species of flowering plant in the field, often growing scattered or in small populations on dusty hills, forest edges, wastelands or roadsides. Hoa Mua is pink and purple in color, quite beautiful, close to sim flowers, can decorate every house, but not sold in florist stalls, like the sentence "Flowers buy and sell but buy" (poem 'Flowers buy' by Thanh Trac Nguyen Van, 1995).
