
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is increasing and one of the leading causes of death. The cost of treatment is very large, if not detected and treated early will cause serious consequences for patients, their families and society. Objective: To study the characteristics of patients with COPD in Nghe An. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional, prospective. Morbidities labeled: diabetes 19 percent, cardiovascular 26 percent, other disease 16,3 percent. Conclusion: COPD majority of morbidity in the elderly and predominantly male. Correlation between cigarette smoking time/work with the prevalence of COPD. Should therefore early detection and timely treatment for prevention of the disease and avoid complications of acute flares of the disease is a problem to be more interested.
