Rubella'is an infectious disease caused by virus and often translated. The disease has many complications, includmg neurological complications. In this study, the authors aimed to describe the clinical and investigational characteristics of neurological complications in patients with rubella. There were 85 clli1dren with rubella who had neurological complication admitted to National hospital of PediaJrics from December, 1st, 2010 to November, 3dh, 2011. Mean age 8.4 + or - 3.3 years, boy/girl = 1.25/1, the disease was seen mainly from Febuary to June, peak prevalence occured in Apll. Neurological complications occured from the first day to the eighth day, mean 3.7 + or - 1.3 days. The most frequent neurological manifestations was coma (100 percent), seizures (91 8 percent), maningeal signs (58.8 percent), 10.6 percent of patients required mechanical ventilation. Increased cells in cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) 53.9 percent, but only increase slightly (5-300 cells/mm3), increased protein ( 0.45 g/l) in CSF 60 percent. Cerebral damage images in CT scanner were seen 35 percent amost were edema. Most cases made a full recovery (96.4 percent), mean duration for recovery is 6.9 + or - 2.9 days. Sequelae prevalence was 2.4 percent. It was important to take notice of neurological complications in a patient with Rubella.
