177 children with 236 cutaneous infantile hemangiomas who received no treatment were followed up for periods ranging from 1-5 years (mean 2,5 years). Of 236 lesions, 235 (99,6 percent) were regressing, 60 (25,4 percent) regressed completely with no trace. One lesion failed to regress at the age of 3 years. The completeness of spontaneous resolution increase with the time; at the age of 3 years, 24 percent of lesions disappeared completely, at the age of 4 years this rate is 51,6 percent. These findings indicate the wisdom of conservative management of the majority of hemangiomas of infancy.
