
From July/2007 to Sep./2009, The Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Center of Bach Mai hospital had used the Rotating Gamma System for treating 43 patients diagnosed with craniopharyngioma. Results: Average age of patients was 11-69, median age is 32,2; the female/male ratio was 1/1.1. Size of tumor ranged from 6mm to 34mm, mean was 18,6mm. Radiosurgery dose was prescribed from 10 to 14 Gy, the mean marginal dose was 12,8 Gy. After treatment, clinical symptoms have improved in 48,8 percent cases, no changes in 27,9 percent and disappeared in 23,3 percent. The CRR (complete response rate), PRR (partial response rate), NRR (no response rate) and PDR (progress disease rate) is 18,6 percent; 48,6 percent; 11,6 percent; and 20,9 percent, respectively. All patients are safe and no death or severe complications has been reported.
