The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of early de-worming and multimicronutrient supplementation for stunting children who are Pakoh and Van Kieu ethnics in Quang Tri province. Results: The results showed that children fed with deworming and micronutrients increased in weights and heights and reduced the rates of underweight (how many percent reduction?) and stunting compared with the controls. Merely micronutrient supplementation was more efficient than merely deworming. Combining both deworming and micronutrient supplementation caused a .synergy effect to increase the weights and heights and decreased underweight and stunting rates of the children. The impact of intervention for children under 24 months old was much better than above 24 months old. Conclusions: Based on these results, the authors recommend that children living in areas with high rates of malnutrition and worm infections be subjected to a combined micronutrients and deworming supplements to increase normal growth and to reduce stunting rates.
