
Retraction pocket (RP) is a diseas of adheresing the ear drum Into inne wall of middle ear. The retraction pocked can erode the ossicle to result in dangerus complications as hearing loss or vertigo at the last stage. Objectives: To evaluate the results of audiometry and tympanometry with clinical stages of the retraction pocked. Methods: 54 cases of RP at the National ENT Hospital were estimed the audiometry and tympanograms comperating with fort stages of clinical RP. Results: The first stage of RP (4 cas) has only Tympanogram with negative top but normal Audiometry. The second stage (16 cas) has the hearing loss from 10 to 20dB and tympanogram with curve top. The third stages (25 cas) with hearing loss from 20 to 40dB and the top of tympanogram is lower and curve. The hearing loss Is over 40dB in the last stage with the horizontal forme of tympanogram (9 cas). Conclusion: the hearing loss and tympanogram are difference from each of stages of RP. The surgery is based on each stage of RP.
