
Purpose: To assess the results of the method of pterygium cutting surgery with conjunctival autologous graft and the recurrence rate after surgery. Subjects and Methods: 60 patients (60 eyes were operated) had pterygium in the level II, III, IV; the recurrence pterygium were operated to cut pterygium with conjunctival autologous graft in Department of Ophthalmology of Vietnam-Cuba Dong Hoi friendship hospital from May, 2010 to December, 2010. Time to follow up was after 1 months and 6 months. Results: The average age of patients was 58.2, the vision after surgery increased 73.3 percent, the good surgical result was 71,7 percent, the recurrence rate was 3.23 percent. Conclusion: Pterygium cutting surgery with conjunctival autologous graft is a safe and effective method to give good results and the low recurrence rate.
