Subjects: 59 patients (62 bulging eyes) with carotid-cavemous fistula has been diagnosed and treated by embolization. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study at different time points: Before treatment, just after treatment and six months after the treatment, compared with the results on untreated patients. Results: In a few days after the embolization, changes in the eyes such as protruding eyes, conjunctivitis were quickly reduced and then ended. Vision, vision field, intraocular pressure, papilledema, oculomotor paralysis... were progressed more slowly. Statistics in 6 months time have the following results: Protruding eyes were 3.2 percent, conjunctivitis - 4.8 percent, high intraocular pressure - 11.3 percent, optic disc atrophy 8. 1 percent, concave optic disc - 35.5 percent, oculomotor paralysis... Compared with clinical findings in the eye before embolization of some domestic and international researches, it shows that after embolization, the clinical recovery is significant. Patients with carotid-cavernous fistula should be treated early.
