Recurrent bacterial meningitis is seen rarely in children, also a big challenge of pediatricians. Anatomical defects of skull base, immunological deficiency and chronic parameningial infections are among the most common underlying causes. The authors presented a case with 7 episodes of meningitis. Persistent nasal discharge has been noted since he was 3 years old. Immunological status was normal range. Coronal cranial CT scanner showed a bone defect of the anterior cranial fossa on the left side. Strepcococcus pneumonia was identified in both blood stream and CSF. He recovered well with antibiotics, treatment. The authors suggest to perform coronal cranial CT scanner in patients with recurrent meningitis to recognise anatomical bone defect of skull base for underlying treatment.
