Background: The study identified factors affecting the movements of HIV/AIDS in the city Thai Nguyen during 5 years. Objectives: Describe the situation and some epipemiological characteristics of HIV/AIDS. Methods: cross-sectional design. Results: The rate of: new HIV has decreased from 28.38 percent to 16.34 percent; Transition to AIDS also decreased from 30.08 percent to 13.65 percent; Deaths decreased from 48.57 percent to 5.71 percent. The patients: drug addiction was highest (61.96 percent); heterosexual relations (17.66 percent); the age group of 30-39 years old was increased (55.20 percent); the rate of male (63.46 percent), since 2010, the rate of female was increased, and decreased in male. Conclusions: Period 2008-2015, HIV/AIDS at Thai Nguyen city was downward ,trend. since 2010, the rate of HIV women has increased suddenly. Recommendations: Health facility should enhance communication on HIV/AIDS and emphasizing the disease throught sexual transmission and injection drug users.
