Introduction/Objective: Laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer at Hanoi Medical University Hospital has good early results. Aims: to assess the early outcomes of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. Materials and Method: Retrospective review of a consecutive series of laparoscopic rectal-colectomy at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Results: From 12/2009 to 01/2012, 55 patients underwent laparoscopic rectal-colectomy, 36 male, 19 female, 13 cases of right colectomy, 3 cases transverse colon resection, 9 cases of lelf colectomy, 9 cases of sigmoidectomy, 5 cases of low anterior resecrion and 16 cases of abdominoperineal resection. Mean operation time was 153.6 minutes for all resections. Mean duration of hospitalization was 9.8 days. Conclusions: mortality 0 percent. Laparoscopic recto colectomy is safe and effective, short time recovery, reduce pain postoperation, high cosmetic with the rule of operation for cancer.
