
Objective: To describe unintentional injuries among students of some junior high schools in Thai Binh city and Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province, 2014. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 8 schools of Thai Binh city and Vu Thu district in 2014. 3737 school students were interviewed. Results: 'proportion of unintentional injuries during past year was 16.9 percent. This rate among male students (19.7 percent) was significantly higher than that among female students (13.9 percent). Students who were younger or equal to age 12 years had higher rate (18.7 percent) than those aged 13 and older (14.6 percent) significantly. Conclusion: Nearly one fifth of school students of junior high schools had been injured in the past year. Male students were injured more than female students; Younger students were injured more than older students.
