Research purpose: Assessing the fit between diagnosis MSCT and clinical in maxillofacial trauma. Reviewed the role of 3D reformation technique in maxillofacial fracture evaluation. Initial study the main causes of maxillofacial trauma in Viet-Tiep Hospital. Materials and methods: A prospective study from September 2010 to January 2011 collecting 25 patients. All patients underwent MSCT (8 slices) and treated in Viet-Tiep Hospital. Results: The appropnate ratio of MSCT and clinical: 96 percent. These fractures included: Maxillary sinus (29 percent), mandibular bone (23 percent), maxillary bone (14 percent), zygomatic arch (14 percent), orbital bone (12 percent), nasal bone (8 percent). Traffic accidents are the most cause of maxillofacial injuries (88 percent). Conclusion: MSCT allows Multi-plane reformation. It evaluates accuracy the amount of fracture lines and fracture fragments. MSCT was an easy, rapid technique in maxillofacial fractures. It should be used more widely.
