
Urticaria in children is still increasing at that time. The patients with urticaria are usually treated as outpatients. However, the rate of hospitalized children with urticaria tends to be increasing. Therefore the authors conducted this study the to find the clinical features of children with urticaria who are inpatients at the National Hospital of Pediatrics. This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study on 143 children with urticaria in the period from 2/2012 to 9/2012. Study results showed that over 50 percent of hospitalized children aged between 1-5 years. Children hospitalized with severe acute urticaria symptoms such as itching (86 percent), multiple rashs on the skin (the proportion of children with more than 12rashs was 84.6 percent), the large area of rashs (large amount of body involved more than 30 percent was 62.2 percent). Some children admitted to hospital with other symptoms such as high fever, abdominal pain, Quincke edema. Conclusion: The severe acute urticaria caused the child's hospital admission. Some children admit with atypical symptoms before rashs apperance.
