Acute pancreatitis(AP) is a severe and complicated disease, the mortality may reache 30 percent in case of necrosis. Inetrleukin-6 is a marker in prognosis the severity of the disease. Aims: Determination the level and the variation of IL-6 in common and severe form of AP. Patients and methods: 36 pts enrolled in the study. Determination of the severity based on the Immrie criteria, the necrose of pancreas based on the sonography and CT scan. Dosage the IL-6 by chemiluminescent immunometric assay on the 1rst and 4th day of the onset. Results: The WBC in mild AP: 12004,28 + or - 5313,64, in severe AP: 15383,69 + or - 6910,30. The mean blood pressure in mild group: 107,50 + or - 12,76mmHg, and in severe group: 79, 59 + or - 21,37mmHg. The level of IL-6 at lrst day: 32,89 + or - 21,31pg/ml and the 4th day: 15,91 + or - 8,86 pg/ml (much more higher the normal range: 3,4-5,9 pg/ml). There was the significant difference between the level of IL-6 in the mild and severe group, p 0.01. Conclusion: The necro hemorrhage pancreatitis account for 22 percent of cases. IL-6 is a good bio marker in the diagnosis and prognosis of AP. 86 percent of AP have had the increasing of IL-6 and that reaches 100 percent in the severe cases.
