Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) is.the method helping people to raise awareness on open defecation which accordingly shift local people to select the appropriate methods for handling this issue. This assessment aims to determine the effectiveness of CLTS model in improving sanitation coverage in rural areas. Participatory assessment approach has been adopted with combination of two research methods i.e.review of available secondary data (desk review) and fieldwork. Research results show that sanitation coverage rates increase respectively from 26.3 percent to 60.1 percent in Dien Bien, 12.9 percent to 20.4 percent in Ninh Thuan, 9.6 percent to 69.9 percent in Kon Tum; 55.3 percent to 63.6 percent in An Giang; and from 50.1 percent to 58 percent in Dong Thap.
