Purpose: To evaluate the results of treatment of retinal detachment due to ocular contusion injury. Subjects and methods: A interventional prospective longitudinal fol/ow-up study was conducted on 82 eyes of 82 patients with retinal detachment due to ocular contusion injury. After asking patients and clinical examination, tests for recording clinical features and coordination damage, patients will be considered to surgery to treat retinal detachment with circling scleral buckle or location buckling or vitrectomy with or without scleral buckle combine padded from intraocular with gaz or silicone oil. Evaluation of surgical methods, anatomical and function results of surgery, factors related to treatment outcome. Results: Retinal detachment due to ocular contusion injuries are treated by 'classical methods in 42.7 percent of cases and 57.3 percent of cases need to intervene in to vitreous. At the end of follow-up time, sclera buckle used in 71.9 percent and intraocular silicone oil was used in 36.6 percent of cases. The success rate of the surgery in retinal detachment group by contusion trauma was 82.9 percent. The success rare of the surgery only after first surgery was 61 percent. Evaluate some factors related the results of surgery, the author found that patient age (p = 0.132) vitreous hemorrhage (p = 0.54), very low vision before surgery is not related to the success rate of retinal attached (p 0.05). However, the entire retinal detachment reduce the success rate of retinal attached (p = 0.009). Number of patients with retinal detachment due to ocular contusion injury who have vision higher than 1/10 is 45.1 percent. Visual acuity before surgery below hand movement reduce rates achieved postoperative visual acuity (less than 1/10) with p = 0.002. Conclusion: Retinal detachment due to ocular contusion injuries are treated by classical methods in 42.7 percent of cases and 57.3 percent of cases need to intervene in to vitreous. The success rate of the surgery in the retinal detachment contusion injury group was 82.9 percent.
