
Chronic musculoskeletal pain is common, it affect the activitiy, work, Psychology, affection of the patients, traitment Is difficult and complex. This survey is performed with expectation that chronic musculoskeletal pain is more taken interest. Objectives: To survey the framework, the prevalence and the factors related to chronic musculoskeletal pain in HCM city. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional survey was performed for the population in HCM city in 2012-2013. 1.100 people aged 18 years and older were randomly selected to complete the questionnaire available. Results: The prevalence of chronic musculoskeletal pain was found in 26,09 percent of the studied sample, it was more prevalent in women, older person, retired person, low educational person, low income person and women with many children. The common locations of musculoskeletal pain were knee 43,55 percent, low back 35,54 percent. 58,72 percent patients reported moderate to severe pain intensity, chronic musculoskeletal pain affected the emotion for 86,76 percent patients and affected the work for 78,40 percent patients. But, only 62,02 percent patients consulted a doctor. Conclusion: Chronic musculoskeletal pain is one of the major health problems of the population in HCM city because of the high prevalence 26,09 percent, especially women, older person. The common locations of musculoskeletal pain were knee, low back. More than half patients suffered moderate to severe pain. Chronic musculoskeletal pain affected the emotion and the work for the majority of patients.
