Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is a common idiopathic, self limiting retinal disease. Chronic progression may occur in certain patients, deteriorating the visual function. Conventional therapy includes laser photocoagulation in cases without spontaneous resolution within 4 months. The study was conducted to verify the hypothesis that early laser treatment may help to improve visual functions in patients with CSCR. The results showed that visual functions e.g acuity, metamorphopsia positively progress after early laser photocoagulation. In conclusion, early photocoagulation may help to improve the recovery time in patients with acute CSCR.
